Post from Limburg Youth Symphony Orchestra (LJSO: Limburgs Jeugd Symphonie Orkest))
André Rieu joins the Committee of Recommendation
The Limburg Youth Symphony Orchestra (LJSO) is proud to announce that André Rieu has pledged to
become a member of the orchestra's Recommendation Committee.
With this endorsement from the world-renowned violinist and conductor, the LJSO, which celebrates its
fifteenth anniversary this year, will receive special recognition for its commitment to stimulating and
guiding young musical talent towards a professional music career.
André Rieu:
"Making music together is the most beautiful thing there is; I wish that joy to every child. That's why I'm so
proud that we have a youth orchestra here in Limburg where talent can grow, friendships are formed and
the love for music is passed on for a lifetime. With conviction, I approach the Committee of
Recommendation."
Jan Martens, chairman of LJSO:
"The involvement of André Rieu means a lot to our orchestra. His international stature and passion for
music education is a huge inspiration to our young talented musicians.”
The Committee of Recommendation of the LJSO further consists of Marjon Lambriks, Martin Eurlings,
Onno Hoes, Jeroen Lenaers, Reg van Loo, Frank Steijns, René Henket, Ger Koopmans, Anne-Marie
Leufkens-Stassen, Vesko Eschkenazy, and Annemarie Penn-te Strake among others.
The LJSO will celebrate its anniversary on November 23 with a festive concert at the Theater on the
Vrijthof in Maastricht led by Matty Cilissen, a celebration of fifteen years of young musical talent and
inspiration.
The Limburg Youth Symphony
Orchestra (LJSO) was founded in
2010 and is the only Youth
Symphony Orchestra in Limburg.
The orchestra offers young
musicians the opportunity to
perform in a symphonic setting and
consists of students aged 14 to 25
from conservatories and music
schools, as well as young talent
from private music education.
LJSO performances encompass a
diverse repertoire, including
classical symphonic works and
collaborations with international
soloists, conductors, and young
talent.
