The Dress rehearsal, or the concert without music…
The day before the first concert the traditional Dress Rehearsal will take place. The 2011 concert will be recorded by the Australian Company CinemaLive and broadcast in many cinemas in the weekend of July 22nd in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland. In September/October many more cinemas throughout the world will follow. Check at www.cinemalive.com for more information.
During the Dress Rehearsal André spoke English and you see the interaction between him and the recording crew and arranging the final details for the concert. During the Dress Rehearsal it rained as can been seen by the umbrellas and the sound of the rain on my camera. Friday -the day of the first concert- was a fabulous day, sunshine and a very nice temperature. The second concert on Saturday was held in the rain again. 10.000 ponchos on the Vrijthof....

Mirusia’s stunning performance

On Saturday she did the same performance in high winds and pouring rain. Luckily Mary Poppins always has an umbrella at hand…
Rieu week at L1 television
Like each year, the local Limburg TV station L1 showed some specials during the week of the concerts. The reporter Jo Cortenraedt, for those who visit this site, a familiar face, will give us a glimpse behind the scenes and has interviews with André, prominent guests, entrepreneurs and fans.
